After designing and painting the Mountain Creatures mural, I wanted to paint something in the same style, but different. Growing up, my family was oddly proud of whatever zodiac animal they were – We would also use people’s zodiac signs to tell what age someone is. (ie. “Auntie is also a snake, so she is either 12 or 24 yrs older than you.”) With my dad passing last year, I wanted to put him (born in the year of the Ox) on the mountain, as if watching over us. The Rat sits on the Ox to cross the finish line, like in the zodiac race story. I also love that my mother-in-law and father-in-law are born in the year of the Rat, so the dads are just on the mountain, lovingly side-eyeing everyone.

This mural really brightened up a room you see when you first enter our house.

My clients asked for a non-traditional baby mural featuring a calming nature scene
with lots of textures, and layers. After seeing my green bunny on my site, they asked that I incorporate some animals into the sketch. With each revision, they were always excited when
I added more creatures. The mural features a Kererū bird (essentially a drunk New Zealand pigeon) and a surfing penguin representing the new parents (not from New Zealand or drunks).

This has been one of my favorite projects to date!

My Sugar's Donut Shoppe is a small mom & pop shop, well-known in the area for their delicious, daily-baked donuts. Although the place was welcoming, it felt a bit cluttered and dated. We revamped the place with 2 fresh new colors, and murals on all 3 walls – for a more bright, inviting, and fun environment.

After several design sketches, I like to send my client photoshopped versions of the sketch on the wall so they have a pretty good idea of how their space will feel when my work is done. 

Previously, the Daily Specials were making a lot of customers angry. There was a miscommunication between the price of a dozen donuts vs. the Daily Specials, which offers
a variety of choice donuts to encourage customers to branch outside of their 1 - 2 favorites.
This was an easy mistake with the Daily Specials nearly hidden in the menu. 

Had a little extra time, and a blank wall... so we added two huge donuts to the other side wall.

After creating the logomark for Libertas, they brought me back to paint a mural in their newly renovated space. They installed these beautiful home-made planters, which created a unique canvas for the mural. 80 hours in 8 days (sketch + paint).

When Aya approached me with this project we had no idea what we wanted to paint – just "something inspirational." Initially, I was given a beautiful, tall, blank, white wall... And then they moved into another building. I was given this short, orange wall, cluttered with a thermostat,
LCD screen, light switch panel, and a conference room sign. The wall also had to stay orange.

Microsoft Ventures works with startups full of coders and engineers. In order to come up with a design that relates and works with the obstacles (light switch panel, thermostat,...etc.), I thought of a circuit board. Although most commonly green, some circuit boards are orange. The circuit board is designed to make the obstacles part of the piece and even correlate with LEDs around the light switch panel and LCD screen. The parts on the board allowed me to integrate several motivational quotes to keep the viewers' eyes moving.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO QUOTE A MURAL?

• Dimensions of wall/mural space. Please provide photos if possible. (ex. 10’x13’)

• Type of space? Interior or exterior? (ex. Interior: Office Wall)

• Is the wall ready to paint or needs to be patched up/primed for painting?

• Idea of what you want? Can be vague. (ex. Nature scene incorporating company mascot)

• Date of completion

• What hours will I be able to paint?  (ex. 9–5 on weekdays or after business hours 4pm–10pm and weekends)

WHAT ELSE FACTORS INTO COSTS?

• Exterior paint costs more and working outdoors often requires more prep work than an interior space.

• Oversized or super tall murals may require scaffolding rental (~$250/wk)

• Rush charges may apply.

• If you don’t have a mural design ready, I am your person! This includes 3 sketches, 1 refined sketch, 1 revision based on feedback. Additional revisions are additional costs.
